Trauma is the Greek word for wound. It encodes painful memories so profoundly in our minds that they affect how we think, behave, and feel, essentially limiting how we live our lives.
Even if you are not consciously aware of the past events that are still influencing you, all trauma creates scars that can impair your mental wellbeing. Carrying the ongoing weight of trauma might make you feel trapped with no way out, but I’m here to tell you that there are ways to recover from your trauma.
Although many life-threatening events can induce trauma, trauma comes in all shapes and sizes. It is not always the trauma with a capital T that pulls the rug out from under us, but it can be everyday traumas such as a divorce, the loss of a loved one, or surgery. There is no universal scale for judging another’s pain related to their trauma. Internal pain is subjective, and everyone processes trauma in a different manner.
The good news is that you can heal and move on from your experience. Seeking trauma counselling can help speed up the healing process, improve your outcomes, and give you a better knowledge of how to go ahead in your life.
RTT uses a technique to address the trauma that clients have been holding onto for many years, allowing it to be released, no matter where you are in the recovery process.
